Why isn't my wood wick staying lit?

You likely need to trim your your wick, however you're experiencing one of two things:

  • A self-extinguishing wick. A wick that won't stay lit for more than a few seconds or minutes after a successful first burn, or
  • No flame at all. A brand new candle won't produce a flame.

If you've successfully burned your candle in the past, but are having issues relighting your candle. There's probably too much soot built up on the remaining wood wick. Simply trim your wick to remove any black residue (pinch & break works well), and discard what you've collected. Ensure the pieces you remove do not remain in the wax.

If your wood wick won't light at all, and it's a brand new candle, the wick is too long. Trim your wick to 1/4", and try relighting.

How long do these candles last?

For an optimal burn, we recommend burning for no more than 4 hours at a time. Our candles will burn for 50+ hours when properly cared for. Wax melt individual squares will last for 3-4 days if you are burning 24/7 without turning your burner off.

What kind of wax do you use?

All of our candles and wax melts are made with an all-natural soy wax, cotton wick, and premium phthalate-free essential oil blends in a reusable glass jar.
